Generates missing emails or retries failed generation at one step across the ICP, including older imports. Preserves successfully generated copy and never rewrites sent or sending emails. Does not retry delivery failures, already-running work, or WAITING_CREDITS rows. Waiting-for-credit rows resume after a top-up.
MISSING (default) creates absent emails and queues empty, completed rows. FAILED retries rows whose generation state is FAILED, with no one-hour waiting period. MISSING_AND_FAILED does both. Each AI email generated costs 1 AI credit; TEMPLATE and PER_CONTACT rendering uses none. Review Get Step Email Status and available workspace credits first. Fix missing copy or invalid templates before retrying.
After a large AI import, wait for its status in List Imports to be COMPLETED, review the preview, then use MISSING for each AI step, starting with step 0. The operation returns when queued, not when finished. Follow nextActions and poll Get Step Email Status every 10 seconds. An import still processing returns 409.
This does not apply configuration changes to successful copy or clear shouldReprocess; use Rebuild Step Emails for that. Repeating a run preserves successful copy, but a later FAILED run may spend credits retrying rows that failed again.
